Hi Steve,
I first want to thank you for all the great work youâre doing here ! I often visit your website, this is really inspiring to me and I learn a lot ! That makes me a french fan of stevehuffphoto.com !
I truly wanted to share a true story which happened to me one month ago:
One of my motherâs friends came home when I was visiting my parents. During this visit, the woman on my pictures told me that she would be never able to tell some things to her beloved daughter, because of their complicated lives, stories; because of the different ways they took during existence. Life is sometimes hard.. Anyway, I had an idea: I wanted her to write a letter to her daughter. In this very letter, she would be able to tell her whatever she wanted to, and thus release herself, at least for a moment.
She allowed me to take few pictures during this « exercise ». I took a table, a chair, a candle, and brought her outside. She wrote her letter, on a white paper, which remained white after all because she did not use ink at all. Doing so, only her could know what she wrote that day. It was very windy, and I like to think , sometimes, that the wind took the message away with him, and went to whisper in her daughterâs ears..
I really wanted to share this story with you, thatâs a shame my english is not better i am sorry ! I took those pictures with my Sony alpha 7II and a Sigma art 35 mm F/1.4 lens, which is just stunning ! No autofocus because of the adaptation ring, back to manual style ! I really enjoy my camera ! I bought it because you reviewed it so well ! I have never regretted my choice ! Here is my Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/jean-pierre_ardelle/
Take care,
